Reid has his Bachelor’s in Communication and his Master’s in Sport Studies, and has been working for the past five years at the university level as an academic support coach for college athletes.

Reid has overcome several challenges throughout his life, including being bullied as a child and surviving medical setbacks that kept him from pursuing his athletic goals. He has learned how to overcome the odds, and that’s what he motivates his students to do every day.

As the manager of Georgia Tech’s “Total Person Program” for college athletes, Reid helps students prepare for life after graduation by identifying potential careers, refining their resumes, and presenting themselves professionally. Prior to this role, Reid worked for four years as an Academic Support Coordinator where he took pride in consistently helping his 40+ student-athletes earn the highest grades among their peers.

Reid loves people and is great at figuring out how to build rapport with students. As a coach, he knows exactly when to listen and empathize and when to give students that extra motivational push they need to reach their goals. He cares deeply about his students’ success and is driven to help them believe in themselves and achieve success in ways they never thought were possible.

Originally from a tiny town in Minnesota (with a population of 123!), Reid currently lives in Atlanta with his wife and their two girls. In his former career as a sports broadcaster, he worked with some of the greatest athletes and coaches in the world through his jobs with ESPN, the Kansas City Chiefs, and the Atlanta Falcons. A journalist at heart, Reid loves learning about what others believe in, and why. His favorite hobbies are talking about sports, working out, and spending time with his family.
